Why the Blogg? Well I have a number of coworkers that keep asking me what's new with the bike. Well I tend to rattle of details and show some pictures but I don't think most of it is being absorbed. Maybe they really don't care. None the less, now they can go to my blogg and catch up on what I have done up to now or they can mock me and my vision.
What bike you ask? Well I started to read this magazine called The Horse Backstreet Choppers and I was hooked. It’s a great magazine with everyday Joes building nice choppers out of their garages. It wasn't until I saw a guy building a bike in his living room that I decided it was time to build one. So I chose to build a 1967 Triumph Bonneville.
I know great, what the world needs another jackass who thinks he's Jesse James. All I want to do is build a bike the way I envision it and not have to take out a second or third mortgage.
So what are my credentials? Well I don't know how to weld! I have never worked with metal! I have never done a ground up build of anything and to be perfectly honest I really sucked at woodshop in high school. All I can tell you is that I am armed with a lot of do it your self books and the guts to purchase part on ebay and try to modify it to my liking.
I will try to post my progress and my failures in regards to my motorcycle build. Wish me luck and I hope to come out of this with all my digits intact.
By the way if you want to post some feedback that’s cool and if you got questions I will be more then happy to answer them. Remember that this my first chopper build and I am not an expert.
